View Full Version : First bowl on mc110

Here are the pics of my first turning on the new mc1100. The timber is a burl collected by son Jack while away camping with friends. All I know is it was a eucalypt of some sort, but who cares when you get colour like that. The bowl is 150 mm in diameter and 45 mm high. That was all I could get after turning off the bark and rot. Finished with shellawax.

Well that's the new lathe well and truly christened.

Thank everyone for all the encouraging comments. I'm looking forward to many happy hours on the new toy and will post more pics as soon as I can 14 year old son Jack off the lathe:)
