Certainly different to your usual style Tony. Carving is very effective. Probably took more than a few minutes:roll: .

What timber and what size is the finished box. Will you be able to use the cutout timber for a smaller piece.

thanks to everyone for your kind words.

The timber is Australian Red Cedar considered by some as the "Red Gold" of all timbers. The box is about 22cm long and yes carved in front of a fan operating at full speed during February 2007, plus an enormous amount of finishing time!
