Hi everyone,
I have a couple of questions about Vermont's dovetail jig. I have a chance to pick one up really cheap. Does anyone use one? If so, is it easy to use?
Will it fit any router/trimmer with a bushing guide?

Hi Sherlock. Not familiar with the particular jig but, at least in the States, Vermont American have a very dodgy reputation. Been around a long time, but specialise in low-priced tools, saw blades, etc. The jig might be fine, but be careful. :)

Thanks Bob,
I took another look and you are right! It has a lot of plastic and seems to have a lot of slack in the parts. Don't think it will give tight fitting joints.

I seem to remember this or a similar item being sold in some Bunnings stores in Australia. If it's the same - steer clear of it and find something else.

Thanks for the advice George.
Guess I'll just have to save a lot more money and look into a Gifkins or something similar.
Cheers

Hi Sherlock
I bought one of these from Bunnings a couple of years ago out of their "special" bins - very cheap
I should have saved my money - it went into my garbage bin after a number of frustrating experiences.
I have since bought a Leigh jig - wonderful device
