To all woodturners everywhere.
My good friend Vic Wood suffered a stroke last Saturday night. He is resting in
Geelong Hospital at the moment and will be moved to Box Hill Hospital as soon as
possible. He has regained speech but for the moment has lost the use of his legs.
The prognosis for him regaining the use of his legs is pretty good but he will however
have to undergo a long and exhaustive period of physio, relearning how to walk.
Please feel free to post any messages you may have for him or the wonderful Bev here
or email them at: [email protected]
I am sure that the posts and emails will spur him along the road to recovery and let both
Vic and Bev know you are thinking of them.
(Bev, by the way, is suffering with a torn ligament in her foot from a tennis injury
sustained last week http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/redface.gif) I am sure that Vic is faking to get out of having to help
Bev. http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/wink.gif
Cheers to all

For the moment POSTS & EMAILS ONLY please.
UPDATE 14 October
Hi Neil
This is Steve Wood here. Vic's Son I thought I would send you an email to
let you know the status of Vic's stroke that he had on the weekend. He is
now in Box Hill Hospital after being transferred in an ambulance from
Geelong where he had the stroke. Apparently the Storke is considered "mild"
in the sense that it affected the physical side of the body and not the
mental. So...he can be re trained to walk and the doctor says that he is
likely to make a full recovery. I saw him last night and he was sitting up
in bed directing traffic so you know he is almost right but his left leg
has forgotten how to walk. Did you know while laying down he can move his
leg in any direction but as soon as he goes to walk it buckles?! I know he
is strong enough to learn how to walk again but any encouragement you could
give him would be greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to pass this on to his many mates in the woodturning world.
All the Best
Steve
