I am building a small timber walkway and birdhide out into the middle of a dam and would prefer to do it in timber. Does anyone know of timber species in the round that will last a long time if used as the pylons standing in the mud and water. I do not want to use CCA treated :oo: as there are crustaceans and fish in the dam.

G'day.
Use Turpentine logs.
That is what was used for piles.
Turp has a high silica content and lasts longer in water than any other timber available.
