A well-tuned kanna, a sharp iron, and some great Qld maple for a sideboard top. Life doesn't get much better than this.

The top is for Garret Hack's huntboard in FWW 187 I'm making for daughter. I was going to do a WIP, but I'd feel like an absolute doofus if I messed it up midway through :-. The second photo is at it's current stage. The door frames and panels are completed and just need gluing up, then trimming.

I had some last night with salad. John West - the best!

Seriously though, that is a beautiful piece of work Des.
And you are right - there is nothing better than the whisper of a finely tuned plane as it sings to you.
You picked a beautiful timber to perform on as well.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words.

Oz, I have that doofus feeling every second day. (More often according to daughter).

It's a pity they put tuna in cans. It's really meant to be eaten fresh and raw.
SWMBO loves Qld maple, and shellac really brings out its depth, warmth and richness.
