Out of interest, where do the people from Perth on these forums buy timber from?

I have been to bunnings but they do not seem to have much of a range.

They only seem to have oak, jarrah, mdf, chipboard, pine and plyboard.

Arry mate... Give Bunnys the flick mate and look for the auctions... I tend to buy most of my timber from the auctions Blacks Auctions in Bunbury or Ross's Auctions in Perth... When I finally get organized I intend going to the next forest timber products auction in Harvey and buy a squadzillion logs!!... As I said Ive gotta get organized first... sorta like make a mill make a budget escape from the missus with the CC snuffled into my wallet instead of her purse... you know that sorta thing :roll: But they quite often have a fair amount of wood in their auctions Ross's are good in that they will if you sign up with them send you an email with upcoming actions listed and links to the catalogue of whats on offer... Ive been on Blacks for a couple of years but for some reason Ive only ever recieved 1 email from them and mostly rely on the local rag to give me the whens and wheres of their auctions...

Its been some years now since Ive bought any timber from any other source... since at auction I tend to buy pack lots which give you ooodles of loverly timber stuff to muck with :;

But I really must get onto Martrix and get his mills measurements and make one up cause Im breeding trunks and boughs at the moment... had a nice winfall the other day with half a Pauliwannia tree coming down which the shire blokes cut and left in a nice pile for me on the verge... damned good of them I thought :2tsup: and the old Jarrah out the back dropped a nice branch for me to play with the other week... AND best of all was the FIL who has recently sold the family small acrage in Australind for a mega song has said I can come gather all the logs of Banksia Sheoak and Jarrah I want... mega mucho timber... so I gots to make or get a mill!!! SOON! :C

But check the auctions!! theyre pretty regular... Heres the Link (http://www.rossauction.com.au) to their site... and heres the next timber auction on 17th May page (http://www.rossauction.com.au/htdocs/auctions/index.php/view/17052007d) AND HERE is the next Forest Commission auction page (http://www.rossauction.com.au/htdocs/auctions/index.php/view/26052007f) next one is 26 May

Arry,

Give Mike and Sandra at Misan Craftwood (http://www.misancraftwood.com/)a call. They specialise in Tassy timbers, but have lots of local stuff too.

You can also go to their EBay site (http://stores.ebay.com.au/misancraftwood), where they sell. I have bought numerous items from them and they have all been first rate.

Cheers.:2tsup:
