Hi
Here is a Grandfather clock which I just recently completed.
Made from Red Ironbark, and Yellow Box.
Movment is a Herle from Germany.

What does a movement like the one you used cost?

Looks fantastic. One day I hope to build one my self also. I can still remember the sound of the one my grandparents used to own when I was a kid...
PS: Hope you don't mind, but I increased the brightness a little on you original photo to do it a bit more justice

Hermle movements (mechanical) range from about $280 to $3K. Then you need to allow $300 - $1K for dials, hands, pendulums, weights, decorations etc. Could be an expensive hobby...

The movent cost $685.
Moon phase dial $225.
Pendulum $110.

All the rest of the stuff comes with it, hands, chime, weights.
Not a cheap hobby but very rewarding.
I intented to sell it when I started it, Buuuuuuut............... now that its in the house, now way, its staying.
( is this how you reply?.....I'm not sure)
