I don't like lurking so I'd better introduce myself!
I'm an industrial arts (shop) teacher and live in Blackheath NSW.
My trade qualifications are in the metal area so I'm really only a "hobby woodworker".
I've renovated (major) 2 old houses (pics on www.metalbashatorium.com ) and have a lot of links on the site for such trivia as musical instruments, trebuchets, engines and more. I noted these as a few of the discussion items on your board.
Hope I can contribute, anticipate some thought provoking discussion.
