Used curly maple, purpleheart and a couple of dyed veneers. Finish is rather simple, shellac, tung oil blend, shellac and then lacquer. The inside is not finished yet, not sure if it will be used as a humidor. Here are some close up pics.

Very Nice box. I like the effect of the bird pulling open the box as if going thru the wood.

Where about in Florida are you? I'm in the Bradenton/Sarasota area.

Bill

Fantastic works guys, congratulations. :2tsup:

What is a humidor? I can see, it is a box, but does it have a special use?
Sorry for my ignorance, I never heard this word before.

I try to post my current work, see how I go.
It is a mirror frame: bird's eye maple and huon pine the pattern is a "life tree" a traditional Transsylvanian motif

Cigars are best kept at 70 percent humidity, the humidor is a box, case, cabinet or even room with a humidifier in it to do the job.
