Hello every one
I'm back from a travelling woodturning session, and as usual I see many wonderful realizations on the forum. My congratulation to any one of you.
We were professional woodturners working together ans exchanging techniques and opinions. When a lathe was available for a few minutes, and our hands were itching, we only had to pick a piece of wood somewhere and turn a litlle something.
This one was a fast one.
The captive ring was done with a dentist scraper.
(never forget to ask your dentist to give you the irons he thraws away, they might alwas be useful)<O:p

Very elegant, Claude. Even with my dental picks, I'd have trouble achieving that much precision. Any idea what kind of wood it is?

Joe, I think it was a piece of maple sicamore. It's a very popular wood outstanding for trying as it has a very close grain. Apart from that it's only merit is to be quite white.

Just beautiful:-

I haven't ever turned a goblet, but seeing that picture is an inspiration, maybe I'll give it a go.

Cheers
