View Full Version : Lines from songs that get you

Nobody listens to the lyrics, I know. But every now and then you do and a line gets you for some reason.

One that always does for me is from "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight" by The Jam. If anyone doesn't know the song, a brief synopsis is that this poor bloke is on his way home with a take-away curry, his wife waiting at home "polishing the glasses and pulling out the cork" when he is accosted by some thugs, who mug him and ultimately inflict upon him a mortal wound. As he's dying his last thought is:

"I glance back on my life
And think about my wife
cause they took the keys - and she'll think its me"

Dunno, gets me every time...

America's Sister Golden Hair gets me every time, it reminds me of SWMBO when I first met her as she had long golden hair.

Weird I know. :-

Well I tried to make it Sunday, but I got so damn depressed
That I set my sights on Monday and I got myself undressed
I ain't ready for the altar but I do agree there's times
When a woman sure can be a friend of mine

Well, I keep on thinkin' 'bout you, Sister Golden Hair surprise
And I just can't live without you; can't you see it in my eyes?
I been one poor correspondent, and I been too, too hard to find
But it doesn't mean you ain't been on my mind

If you don't want me I'll dry my tears and move on
If you don't want me I'll dry my tears and move on

You treated me just good enough until now
But if you're tired of me I'll get over you somehow
Oh, if you don't want me I'll dry my tears and move on

If you don't need me there's someone else who needs me out there
She's kind and tender and one day I'll find her I swear
So set me free while I've still got time
Don't try to hide your shame, dear, from my eyes
Oh, if you don't want me I'll dry my tears and move on

Faded love
As if you need a reason
Am I out of your dreams
Or just out of season
Oh the flame of love
Oh you wouldn't understand
You hide it in your heart
You don't hold it in your hand

If you don't want me I'll dry my tears and move on
If you don't want me I'll dry my tears and move on

My suits got creases and my shoes have got shine
Let me know soon I'll find a better use for my time
Oh if you don't want me
If you don't want me
Oh, if you don't want me I'll dry my tears and move on
I'll dry my tears and move on
I'll dry my tears and move on

Nobody listens to the lyrics, I know.............

I do:wink: . There's a Police song that always gets me, "King of Pain" can't remember the lyrics just now but they pluck at the heart strings. Also been listening to a "Dido" album recently, (picked up a swag of cds for $1 each at a garage sale during my road trip) it's probably more than a little to do with my current state of mind but some of the lyrics have had me in tears.

this is all a little vague, bout 30 years ago, can't remember the surf movie title, a young rabbit surfing perfect Kirra, I mean perfect, he's just dancing with Kirra and the overlayed music was from Gallager and Lyle (may have mispelled their names), don't know the title and few words, some of which were (I think):

"Stay young with your rock and rollin
you've got everything that you need,
stay young keep your wheels in motion,
all the best things in life are free".

Better if you can hear the music, and see the rabbit.

Guy Clark..."Stuff That Works"

I've got an old Blue shirt & it fits me just fine,
I like the way it feels, so I wear it all the time,
I've got an old guitar.....won't ever stay in tune,
I like the way it sounds in a dark and empty room.

Stuff that works......stuff that holds up
The kind of stuff you don't hang on the wall.
Stuff that's real.....stuff you feel.
The kind of stuff you reach for when you fall.

"Get off the table Mable,
The money's for the beer".

Or:-

"She was only an opticians daughter,
But, two glasses and she made a spectacle of herself".

Or:-

"What is this thing called Love"? :B

About 20 years ago I broke my leg badly a week before my brothers wedding up in Orbost, East Gippsland. Was supposed to be best man.

Lying in the royal melbourne hossy, night before the wedding (happened to be my bday as well), listening to the radio & Neil Finn/Crowded House sing "Better be home soon"

Unloaded me. Still think of it when I hear the song.:-

It was just before dawn
One miserable morning in black 'forty four.
When the forward commander
Was told to sit tight
When he asked that his men be withdrawn.
And the Generals gave thanks
As the other ranks held back
The enemy tanks for a while.
And the Anzio bridgehead
Was held for the price
Of a few hundred ordinary lives.

And kind old King George
Sent Mother a note
When he heard that father was gone.
It was, I recall,
In the form of a scroll,
With gold leaf and all.
And I found it one day
In a drawer of old photographs, hidden away.
And my eyes still grow damp to remember
His Majesty signed
With his own rubber stamp.

It was dark all around.
There was frost in the ground
When the tigers broke free.
And no one survived
From the Royal Fusiliers Company C.
They were all left behind,
Most of them dead,
The rest of them dying.
And that's how the High Command
Took my daddy from me.

I like this from Dylan's "Hurricane". I don't know why though. My main interest in the song is the violin playing.

Rubin could take a man out with just one punch
But he never did like to talk about it all that much.
It's my work, he'd say, and I do it for pay
And when it's over I'd just as soon go on my way

Gotta say I'm with Silent and ssgt on this one. I have never served but it is songs about war that put a lump in the throat for me.

Anything from Travelin Soldier (Dixie Chicks), Band played Waltzing Matilda (Eric Bogle) or even I was only 19 (Redgum) to name a few.

I'm not entirely sure why. I thinks it's from gratitude of those who fought for this great country and made the ultimate sacrifice in foriegn lands (OK maybe not the Dixie Chicks one). Many of the songs about mateship/brotherhood found in war and as I said I have never served but this still strikes a chord with me.

The tears have all been shed now,
we've said our last goodbye,
His souls been blessed, he's laid to rest, and now I'm all alone.
Oh I never will forget him, for he made me what I am.
Though he may be gone, memories linger on,
and I miss him, the old man.

Written and sung by The Furies. A tribute to the father of one of the group but I can't remember which one. I think of my own dad when I play this song.

More Dylan. Sign on the Window.

Don't know why it gets me. Probably has something to do with delivery.

Sign on the window says "Lonely,"
Sign on the door said "No Company Allowed,"
Sign on the street says "Y' Don't Own Me,"
Sign on the porch says "Three's A Crowd,"
Sign on the porch says "Three's A Crowd."

Her and her boyfriend went to California,
Her and her boyfriend done changed their tune.
My best friend said, "Now didn' I warn ya,
Brighton girls are like the moon,
Brighton girls are like the moon."

Looks like a-nothing but rain . . .
Sure gonna be wet tonight on Main Street . . .
Hope that it don't sleet.

Build me a cabin in Utah,
Marry me a wife, catch rainbow trout,
Have a bunch of kids who call me "Pa,"
That must be what it's all about,
That must be what it's all about.

.....................
There's a fossil that's trapped in a high cliff wall
That's my soul up there
There's a dead salmon frozen in a waterfall
That's my soul up there
There's a blue whale beached by a springtime's ebb
That's my soul up there
There's a butterfly trapped in a spider's web
That's my soul up there
I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain
There's a king on a throne with his eyes torn out
There's a blind man looking for a shadow of doubt
There's a rich man sleeping on a golden bed
There's a skeleton choking on a crust of bread
King of pain

There's a red fox torn by a huntsman's pack
That's my soul up there
There's a black-winged gull with a broken back
That's my soul up there
There's a little black spot on the sun today
It's the same old thing as yesterday

I have stood here before in the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain
I guess I always thought you could end this reign
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain
King of pain
King of pain
King of pain
I'll always be king of pain

Dido: "Do you have a little time"

If you're feeling low and lost today
You're probably doing too much again
You spend all your hours just rushing around
Do you have a little time
Do you have a little time for me?
Slow down my love you're confusing me
If you're feeling stressed just try calling
You spend your time waiting for anyone to see
Do you have a little time
Do you have a little time for me?
If you should stop for a while
You will find me standing by
Over here at the side of your life
I'd like to hold you still, remind you of all you've missed
If you have a little time
If you have a little time that is

Why do you still run when you could walk with me
Life will pass you by when you move as quickly
What can you see when you're spinning around
Do you have a little time
Do you have a little time for me
If you should stop for a while
You will find me standing by
Over here at the side of your life
I like to hold you still, remind you of all you've missed
If you have a little time
If you have a little time that is

If you let me listen I'll make you feel clear
You spend your time waiting for anyone to see
If you should stop for a while
You will find me standing by
Over here at the side of your life
I'd like to hold you still, remind you of all you've missed
If you have a little time
If you have a little time that is
If you should stop for a while
You will find me standing by
Over here at the side of your life
I'd like to hold you still, remind you of all you've missed
If you have a little time
If you have a little time that is

I'm in tears now, reading this. Regrets about opportunities missed............

I'm comin' 'round to open the blinds
You can't hide here any longer
My God you need to rinse those puffy eyes
You can't last here any longer

And yes they'll ask you where you've been
And you'll have to tell them again and again

And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day
Well I promise you you'll see the sun again
And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness
And I promise you you'll see the sun again

Come on take my hand
We're going for a walk, I know you can
You can wear anything as long as it's not black
Please don't mourn forever
She's not coming back

And yes they'll ask you where you've been
And you'll have to tell them again and again

And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day
Well I promise you you'll see the sun again
And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness
And I promise you you'll see the sun again
And I promise you you'll see the sun again

Do you remember telling me you found the sweetest thing of all
You said one day this was worth dying for
So be thankful you knew her at all
But it's no more

There was a young girl, whos heart was a frown
cause she was crippled for life,
And she couldnt speak a sound
And she wished and prayed she could stop living,
So she decided to die
She drew her wheelchair to the edge of the shore
And to her legs she smiled you wont hurt me no more
But then a sight shed never seen made her jump and say
Look a golden winged ship is passing my way

And it really didnt have to stop, it just kept on going...

And so castles made of sand slips into the sea, eventually.

"Idiot Son Of An Asshole"

He's not smart, a C student
And that's after buying his way into school
Beady eyes, and he's kinda dyslexic
Can he read? No one's really quite sure
He signs stuff and he executes people
Maybe that's why, he doesn't have any friends
Cocaine and a little drunk driving
Doesn't matter, when you're the Commander in Chief.

Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole
Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole

Put on some make-up, turn on the 8-Track,
I'm putting a week back on the shelf,
Suddenly I'm the President, of the United States,
But then I woke up, and realized I'm still me.

He's too dumb, to eat pretzels, apparently smart enough to fix an election.
Moved boldly into the White House,
but most people voted against him.
He likes naps, He really likes naptime, A couple of naps and then a nap and then he's ready for bed,
He may be from Bush descent, but he's always gonna be the unpresident.

Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole
Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole
Idiot son of an asshole
He's the idiot son of an asshole

He's our president!

I was just listening to Andy Prieboy and Johnette Napolitano do Tomorrow Wendy.

Video Clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlBx4-7hqW4)

It is complete now the two ends of time are neatly tied
A one-way street, she's walking to end of the line
And there she meets the faces she keeps in her heart and mind

They say 'good bye' Tomorrow, Wendy, is going to die,
They say 'good bye' Tomorrow, Wendy, is going to die,

Underneath the chilly gray November sky
We can make believe that Kennedy is still alive and
Were shooting for the moon and smiling Jackie's driving by and

They say 'good try'
Tomorrow Wendy is going to die
Tomorrow Wendy is going to die

I told the priest, Don't count on any second coming
God got his ass kicked the first time he came down here slumming
He had the balls to come, the gall to die and then forgive us
No, I don't wonder why, I wonder what he thought it would get us
Hey, hey, good bye
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die

Hey, hey, good bye
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die

Only God says jump
So I set the time
'Cause if he ever saw her
It was through these eyes of mine!
And if he ever suffered it was me who did his crying

Hey hey, good bye
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die
(Tomorrow Wendy's going to die)
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die
(Tomorrow Wendy's going to die)
Tomorrow Wendy'd going to die

Hey, hey, good bye
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die

Hey, hey, good bye
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die
Tomorrow Wendys going to die

Frenzal Rhombs " I miss my lung"

great hooky chorus

Another Sunday morning
another boring day
Another lonely sunrise
takes my breath away

I miss my lung
I thought you'd never leave me
god how I was wrong

A part of me is missing
It seems it's been so long

I miss my lung
After all the songs are sung
I miss my lung

I tried to forget you
And live with my regrets
I tried not to miss you
I recall your lovely breath

I miss my lung
As vital as the sun
I miss my lung

Worse than a broken heart
Worse than a poison tongue
Worse than an evil eye
Is you missing lung

I took you for granted
It's ended up in tears
I miss you more than showers
It's been about a year
I loved you like no other
How can I live on?
I hope that you can hear me
It's for you I wrote this song

Worse then a poison tongue.

Worse then Evil eye.
F F sharp
Is my missing lung.

Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiSkyEyBczU)

In my eyes
Indisposed
In disguise
As no one knows
Hides the face
Lies the snake
The sun
In my disgrace
Boiling heat
Summer stench
neath the black
The sky looks dead
Call my name
Through the cream
And Ill hear you
Scream again
Black hole sun
Wont you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Wont you come
Wont you come
Stuttering
Cold and damp
Steal the warm wind
Tired friend
Times are gone
For honest men
And sometimes
Far too long
For snakes
In my shoes
A walking sleep
And my youth
I pray to keep
Heaven send
Hell away
No one sings
Like you
Anymore
Hang my head
Drown my fear
Till you all just
Disappear

I Saw It On T.V.
John Fogarty

I've always thought the lyrics to this song were cleverly done

They sent us home to watch the show comin' on the little screen;
A man named Ike was in the White House, big black limousine;
There were many shows to follow, from 'Hooter' to 'Doodyville',
Though I saw them all, I can't recall which cartoon was real.

The coon-skin caps, Yankee bats, the "Hound Dog" man's big start;
The A-Bomb fears, Annette had ears, I lusted in my heart.
A young man from Boston set sail the new frontier,
And we watched the Dream dead-end in Dallas,
They buried innocence that year.

I know it's true, oh so true, 'cause I saw it on TV.

We gathered round to hear the sound comin' on the little screen,
The grief had passed, the old men laughed, and all the girls screamed
'Cause four guys from England took us all by the hand,
It was time to laugh, time to sing, time to join the band.

But all too soon, we hit the moon, and covered up the sky;
They built their bombs, and aimed their guns, and still I don't know why
The dominoes tumbled and big business roared;
Every night at six, they showed the pictures and counted up the score.

I know it's true, oh so true, 'cause I saw it on TV.

The old man rocks among his dreams, a prisoner of the porch;
"The light," he says "At the end of the tunnel,
Was nothin' but a burglar's torch."
And them that was caught in the Cover are all rich and free,
But they chained my mind to an endless tomb
When they took my only son from me.

I know it's true, oh so true, 'cause I saw it on TV.
I know it's true, oh so true, 'cause I saw it on TV.

Released the year my dad passed away played on the radio when driving out of the crematorium for about 5 years after it got me every time till one day I had to pull over I was a river of tears.

The Living Years - 1988

Still the biggest single of the Mechanics' career, and arguably one of the most emotive songs of our time. The delicate lyric served as a welcome reminder to never let bad blood simmer, as tomorrow may be to late to set things right.
The song touched millions, and made Mike & the Mechanics an instant house hold name. The song was written by Mike Rutherford and BA Robertson, who had both recently lost their fathers, however it struck a particular chord with singer Paul Carrack, who lost his father when he was only eleven. Paul has often commented on how people will stop him on the street, and share their story of how the song had prompted them to pick up the phones and make amends. A powerful song by anybodies standard.
Lyrics

Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations
Come beating on your door
I know that I'm a prisoner
To all my Father held so dear
I know that I'm a hostage
To all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years
Crumpled bits of paper
Filled with imperfect thought
Stilted conversations
I'm afraid that's all we've got
You say you just don't see it
He says it's perfect sense
You just can't get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language
Talking in defence
Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye
So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future
It's the bitterness that lasts
So Don't yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective
On a different day
And if you don't give up, and don't give in
You may just be OK.
Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye
I wasn't there that morning
When my Father passed away
I didn't get to tell him
All the things I had to say
I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I'm sure I heard his echo
In my baby's new born tears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years
Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

Cheers,

Never served my childhood dream too anything military is inspiring
I used to play this to the oldies often on trips they would request, it was also done by Max Bygraves.

Eric Bibb: Hope in a Hopeless World

baby born in New York City
wrapped in a blanket that's tattered an' worn
mother doin' the best she can
teachin' hope in a hopeless world

eldest son, he stayed in school
listened to his mother, didn't drink or use
yet, every job he wants he gets refused
it takes hope in a hopeless world

lookin' for hope in a hopeless world
searchin' for love in such hateful times
tryin' to stay strong when my mind gets weak
looking for hope in a hopeless world

on the corner stands a young girl
the home she left was from a better part of town
her daddy did things she couldn't talk about
is there hope in a hopeless world?

ya got a quarter for the homeless man?
spare some change for the soldiers
who fought the war
put some money in their hats an' in their tins
give them hope in a hopeless world

lookin' for hope in a hopeless world
searchin' for love in such hateful times
tryin' to stay strong when my mind gets weak
looking for hope in a hopeless world
lookin' for hope in a hopeless world...
tryin' to ease my mind...

we got to listen to the voice inside
that speaks of love - don't compromise
realise time is passin' by
there are mountains to climb,
we can't be standing still

churches are full, but the prayers are not heard
Saturday's child don't wanna go to Sunday School
whatever happened to the Golden Rule
teach them hope in a hopeless world

somebody out there's got to listen
somebody out there's got to know
what I'm talkin' 'bout
raise your hand, raise your hand if you're with me
there's hope in a hopeless world

lookin' for hope in a hopeless world
searchin' for love in such hateful times
tryin' to stay strong when my mind gets weak
looking for hope in a hopeless world
lookin' for hope in a hopeless world...
gotta find love in a hopeless world...

Just wanted to say this is a great thread - I really enjoyed reading everyone's input.

A few thoughts from me. I second the motion about "The and that played waltzing matilda". I love the version by the Pogues the most.

Would also like to add "the times they are a changin'" by Bob Dylan and "Better than" by the John Butler Trio.

All you want is
What you can’t have
And if you just look around man
You see you got magic
So just sit back relax
Enjoy it while you still have it
Don’t look back on life man and only see tragic

Because you could be better than that
Don't let it get the better of you
What could be better than now
Life’s not about what’s better than
You can be better than that
Don't let it get the better of you
What could be better than now
Life’s not about what’s better

cool thread

Roger never met his old man.

Ah, so that's explains it.
And from Grace, by Jeff Buckley "lover you should have come over" ,
Its never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
Its never over, all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her
Its never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
Its never over, shes the tear that hangs inside my soul foreverand his voice was astonishing, haunting and powerful in turn.
And Fun Lovin Criminals,
but some of us is wise and some
of us is suckers. . .
But we all bleed red even racist motherfarqkers

Luther Van Dross, Dance with my Father.
My Dad is still alive and kicking but is getting older and his health often leaves a lot to be desired and I don't want to end up in the "Dance with my Father" sindrome.
My workshop at the moment is next to my parents house so he wanders around a couple of times a day to see what I'm doing. I always stop and make time for him, have a cupa and talk about his little projects has on the go. I'm dancing with my father now while I can.

:-Kinky Friedman Get Your Biscuits In The Oven And Your Buns In The Bed
(Kinky Friedman)
You uppity women I don’t understand
Why you gotta go and try to act like a man,
But before you make your weekly visit to the shrink
You’d better occupy the kitchen, liberate the sink.
Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed
That’s what I to my baby said,
Women’s liberation is a-going to your head,
Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed.
Early every morning you’re out on the street
Passing out pamphlets to everyone you meet.
You gave up your Maiden Form for Lent
And now the front of your dress has an air scoop vent.
Every single brakeman that’s ever come along
Had a little woman always tellin’ him that he’s wrong.
Eve said to Adam, “Here’s an apple you horse”
And Delilah defoliated Samson’s moss.
Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed
That’s what I to my baby said,
Women’s liberation is a-going to your head,
Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed.
Mean-hearted harpies are breaking all the laws
Tearing up their girdles and a-burning up their bras,
Now the air is dirty and the sex is clean
And your coffee makes my hair turn green.
So damn emancipated in your mind and your body,
Gonna have to cancel all your lessons in karate.
If you can’t love a male chauvinist
You’d better cross me off your shopping list.
Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed
That’s what I to my baby said,
Women’s liberation is a-going to your head,
Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed.

:-:-:-:-....ok, I really missed the point. Really the only line that gets me is the title line - "Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed".
It's such a completely politically incorrect view.

Odd this business of how songs affect us. As you can see from my age I go back a distance.. More than that my grandmother sang songs that used to be popular in music hall times. Result is I have a song for every occasion. But it can backfire.
I had been stuck in hospital for six months and finally had open heart surgery to rebuild the heart. They give you a rolled up towel to clutch to your chest if you cough. It's bloody painful. I called it my teddy bear and recalled the song

Me and my teddy bear
Got no worries got no care

It was an act of defiance but suddenly I broke. The song was too much for me.

Here are a couple of mine...

Pearl Jam - I am mine

I know I was born and I know that I'll die
The in between is mine
I am mine

The Mountain Goats - This Year

I am going to make it through this year if it kills me

Ben Folds - Brick

Can't you see
It's not me you're dying for
Now she's feeling more alone
Than she ever has before
She's a brick and I'm drowning slowly
Off the coast and I'm heading nowhere
She's a brick and I'm drowning slowly

last one for me (although could add so many more)

Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong,
Under the shade of a coolibar tree,
And he sang as he sat and waited for his billy-boil,
You'll come a-waltzing, Matilda, with me.

Lyle Lovett ...If I had a Boat

If I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

If I were Roy Rogers
I'd sure enough be single
I couldn't bring myself to marrying old Dale
It'd just be me and trigger
We'd go riding through them movies
Then we'd buy a boat and on the sea we'd sail

And if I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

The mystery masked man was smart
He got himself a Tonto
'Cause Tonto did the dirty work for free
But Tonto he was smarter
And one day said kemo sabe
Kiss my ass I bought a boat
I'm going out to sea

And if I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

And if I were like lightning
I wouldn't need no sneakers
I'd come and go wherever I would please
And I'd scare 'em by the shade tree
And I'd scare 'em by the light pole
But I would not scare my pony on my boat out on the sea

And if I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

I was just browsing U-tube and came across "C'est la vie" by Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Not one of my favourites, but I literally haven't heard it in decades so decided to see if I remembered it rightly.

For some reason, halfway though I realised my eyes were leaking... I've no idea why. It just touched a chord.

Weird how some songs can do that to ya when ya least expect it! :-

Give yourself over to absolute pleasure
Swim the warm waters of sins of the flesh
Erotic nightmares beyond any measure
And sensual daydreams to treasure forever
Can't you just see it. Whoa ho ho!
Don't dream it, be it
Don't dream it, be it

I loved Fanfare for the Common Man when I was a kid. I just dialled it up on You Tube and it's a bit cheesy now but it is one of the earliest music videos I can remember. But no lyrics!

This thread is nearly two years old. Says something about music.
