View Full Version : Thicknesser in Brisbane

I have some large slabs of Sydney Blue Gum that have been rough sawn and would like to put these through a thicknesser.

The slabs are a maximum of 530 wide x 60 thick and are up to 4 metres long.

Does anyone have a thicknesser in Brisbane that will handle these? I am willing to pay or do a contra deal with either work (I have a wide range of skills and equipment) or timber.

Or does anyone know of a commercial operator who can do these slabs for me?

Regards, Bois (Jonathan)

Too big for my gear but you could try someone like the slab hut in capalaba. They might be able to help you. They have a lot of large slabs over there so you might be able to do a deal with them to flatten it for you.

I am assuming you have planed one side flat or have a jig to support it to go through a thicknesser. Also you will need at least 8m-8.5m clearance for the job. Take a few mates with you.

Good luck.
