Being without a steam-powered carriage I've had to do a lot of online shopping to feed the turning addiction (well that's my story and I'm sticking to it :U ).

I prefer to deal with Aussie crowds even if I can do cheaper from o/s because if all of us do turn into global consumers there simply won't be the quick local turnarounds and locally-informed advice that changes a transaction into a service. K, rant over.

What I look for is

- a decent website
- prompt replies to questions
- prompt despatch
- willingness to bargain or take things back that don't work as advertised.

Below is a list of folk I'd happily deal with again.

In no particular order, and without any financial or familial connection with any of these (regrettably!):

www.cws.au.com (http://www.cws.au.com) - Jim
www.gpw.au.com (http://www.gpw.au.com) - Gary
www.lumberbunker.com.au (http://www.lumberbunker.com.au) - Steve
www.timbecon.com.au (http://www.timbecon.com.au)
www.woodworks.com.au (http://www.woodworks.com.au) - Mike
www.mik.com.au (http://www.mik.com.au) - Michael
www.thewoodsmith.com.au (http://www.thewoodsmith.com.au) - Len and Phillip

Good list, Ern! I'm also an Oz only shopper, by choice, and the only site I'd add to that list is:

http://www.addictivepenkits.com.au for pen kits & some very nice custom blanks. Brett (aka Froggie) has bent over backwards to help me. :thyel:
