I had an idea about putting a set of weather dials together to tell me the best time to go fishing.
The idea was to put them on a cutout of a fish.
I bought a small slab of Queensland Maple from Boutique Timbers. When I looked at the grain I didn't want to spoil it with a heap of dials.
Eventually I decided to put all the dials on a seperate board. I used some nicely figured Ash veneer framed with Celery Topped Pine.
It is all finished with Danish oil with about third floorseal. This gives a smooth finish and tends to hold its sheen longer than just oil.
It is always a good time to go fishing!!
