I went into my local Mitre 10 store yesterday as I wanted to but a new set of ear muffs. Some thieving bastard of a tradesman (what is it with tradesmen and light fingers?:(( I know it's not all of them but even tradesmen don't trust other tradesmen...) stole my expensive Peltor ones when my house in Sydney was being renovated. The goose may have done me a favour.

I bought a pair of "Bullant" brand of electronic noise reduction ear muffs model ABA300. I actually didn't realise that's what they were until I got home. The cost was about $32.

You know what? They work really well. I had my tablesaw and DC going and once I made contact with the blade with the rip cut there was almost no sound. Amazing for the price.

Even if the electronics dies the rest of the head set isn't that bad.Sure they're made in China but the quality is quite acceptable. Not quite as good as Peltor to be sure but good enough.

Two thumbs up! :2tsup:
