After Skews scathing criticism :wink:of my previous effort at a goblet, I decided to try again today. This was one scary goblet. In my efforts to get the stem thinner I uncovered a sap hole at the top part of the stem. But perserverence paid off and this is the result. I even got the cup thin enough that you can see light through it in places.

I wish I knew. It came from an old house in Dingley. It was being used as garden edging. Eight foot lengths at 8 inches x 4 inches. Hard as concrete. Thats all I know.

Damn fine job Shorty :2tsup: even more impressive is that you got it from what sounds like an old sleeper which are invariably cut from the hardest mongrel woods around! Onya!:U

Ah. As Cliff would say, it's "Beena Tree." I've more than one or two pieces made of that stuff. :)
