Hi,

I posted this reply to an old thread, but it never showed up. so here it is again as a new thread:

The $100 wooden sloop with TWIN LEEBOARDS (in wells) on a free trailer
turned out to be an Atlanta Bootbau (German) Koralle S6R.

Compound-curve, chevron-ply hull with no ribs (just an internal Keel rib). :aro-r:Twin pivoting Leeboards, each in it's own well.:aro-l:
Sloop configuration with a 2-part mast and LOTS of sail area for its weight. My guess is this thing was built for racing. No frills.

However they do have a sliding transom cover that exposes a
rear compartment and the edge of the transom for an outboard mount.

2-ft section of Keel was rotted ('Balsafied') by rainwater but was dimensionally intact.
I spent 3 days using an ultra-slow-curing epoxy sealer to infiltrate the
balsafied area, which worked very well, but of course this probably added
a few pounds of resin to the boat by the time it was done.

The Deck and interior was badly water stained, so all that added up to
a decision to paint the wood with marine urethane, instead of varnish.
Please don't flame me! - I did leave some wood accents here 'n there.

Here is the restored result. I started an english-speaking web site for the model,
but have only a couple pictures so far.
I've had the sloop out 5 times this year on local lakes. Its a blast.

I have only heard of two others in the states. One is in Hawaii,
At least one is on the east coast.
I am on the central coast of California.

They are very rare in the states, but oddly not valued much.
They are a great and unusual example of wooden sailboat design.

More info soon.

Great Result!!! Looks a lot better now!

Looks like it would be pretty quick. Can two people lift the hull?
