Well i got round to slabbing a ironbark log for a farmer on the weekend .
cut him 3 x 75mm thick slabs & cut the rest into 200 wide boards.
near done a valve moving them.

I bet!

How did you get the log up on the blocks?

Have you got a moisture meter? Would be interested in a reading just out of curiosity.

The farmer had a front end loader which made life a lot easier !! I dont have a moisture meter but the tree had not been dead long & i could feel the moisture in it so prob as high as 30% !! i will be out again this weekend so will grab some pic's of the grain !! will be slabbing another one this weekend as well ( if it doesnt have a pipe up it ) but it has been dead standing for about 6 years & should be dry & hard as hell...

Bunta, the dead, standing one, when you cut it - it wasn't dry was it?
