i have this bit of red cedar that had sompthing rong with it.

it was so diformed i did not readlise it was a red cedar untill it was lying on the ground.

itis to good to throw away but has large peices of rot in it and i was wondering how it could be stabalised??

i decided to procead with turning the blank and have got it down to even wall thickness and sanded the outside. first coat of lacker drying now.

all that rot flew out and what bidnot i brushed out with a wire brush it aint as good as i hoped but we will see when it is donne:2tsup:

finaly finished it.

sanded it with athe grinder as i was having trouble with the holes when had sanding.


not to bad if i do say so myself.

Hmm, photographic anomaly.

Festo's mahogany bowl looks like it has sanding marks too but I'd guess it doesn't really.

the bowl has flecks of lighter timber in places that could look like sanding marks in the photo.
