Since attending my first WWW show, I've spent the last week ordering & receiving items from stall holders at the Melbourne show.
Why didn't I buy at the show??? Dunno, but here's the story.
Didn't want any large machinery items, just router bits. hardware & stuff.
Item 1. Show price $65......Catalogue price $55....Postage(Overnight) $7....Saving $3.
Item 2. Show price $85.....Catalogue price $73....Courier Overnight $7...Saving $5.
So I guess next year, I'll just see what I want, and order the week after.

I this usually what goes on???

I don't think that there are many really great bargins at the show. Many of the retailers have a sale a week or so beforehand to capture the spending dollar of the market before the show and then guarantee that their sale show will be better than the wood show.

The wood show is a good chance to see a wide range of products and also catch up with interstate suppliers.

Given the huge prices that need to be paid in order to have a site at the show it is easy enough to see why they don't want to cut into their margins.
