mmmm.....before it will run my pc tells me to install a .net framework!?

OK, have downloaded the above.

For your calculator to be really handy, it needs input windows for when only the opposite or hypotenuse lengths are known.

I was hoping no one needed that.
Usually you have the span/length and the pitch/angle available from the drawings.

Cos and Tan are the only 2 formulas i know of the top of my head.

Any software made using microsofts software developing tools(Visual Studio) needs the dot net framework to run.
Which is free from the microsoft web site.

My little application will check if you have it installed and download if you havnt.

2.0 dot net Framework web site:

It would be needed if you're measuring an existing house that you're going to extend with trusses. It's not wise to just measure the pitch with a protractor and spirit level. You could be way out. If you measure the span, and the length of the two rafters where the new trusses will butt into it, then you can't go wrong.
As a truss designer, you may come across this situation sometime.

SOHCAHTOA (http://www.mathwords.com/s/sohcahtoa.htm), and a scientific calculator (http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=tan+45+%2F+cos+45+*+sin+45&btnG=Search&meta=) gives me everything I need, but a program may be useful.
