G'Day Everyone,
This is my first post, I have visited the forum many times for advice and info but up until now never bothered to register,
A local mill in the Derwent Valley in Tasmania, where I get a lot of my minor species timber from is closing down because the owner/ operator has lost access to the resource.
David has sold the mill and his property and has lo clear all his timber,
he is a nice guy who always gave me a good deal and never complained when I saw a nice peice of timber on the bottom of the rack, even though the forklift was in the shed.
He has some of the BEST Red Myrtle I have ever used, boards, slabs turning blanks.
Tassie Blackwood, Sassafras, Leatherwood, Red gum (Massive SLabs) and boards, Malley burls and the list goes on.

His prices were alway very good , They are rock bottom now and he asked me to let any one I knew .
He has to clear his yard so now is a chance to get some good cheap timber.
If anyone is interested contact me by E-Mail and I'LL give you Davids Phone Number.
I don't know if I need to do this but my E-Mail is
(Contact can be made through PM or email through user Profile)

Don't wait too long the yard has to be cleared.

Catch you on the flip flops
Andrew

Hi Ravlord, (sorry to be offensive, but that does sound like a pornstar name!!!)

I headed out to your contact and was very pleasantly surprised. Turns out the guy is selling his house and the milling equipment. Worst luck. He had some very nice 200x35mm x 2.5m long boards. All from the one log, and very consistant colour. So thanks for the tip. I steered clear from the patterned boards which from the sound of it, you picked the best of a few days previous. I hope you don't get too much tear out. The guy said the log had done the rounds since no one wanted it. Doesn't make good pulp perhaps? I'm hoping to build a stair case from the 200 odd super foot I bought. Cheers for the tip.
