How bad was the damage John? MIL lives at Mundoolun just south of you but unfortunately she is okay:( :pIt was horrific. I had never experienced a storm with such strength. The ute wansn't damaged too badly, just a crushed windscreen and a few minor dents. House insurance doesn't cover that. We lost about 40 meters of new colour bond fence that was only put up a couple of weeks ago and we got bird avieries and they were picked up in the air and dumped in the neighbours back garden. and we lost most of our birds. but luckily nobody was hurt.

Sorry to hear about that John.
It's heartening to read of the support you've gotten from BazzaDLB in that other thread of yours.

Do you reckon the birds would survive in the wild if they were unscathed through it all?

Glad to hear you're OK.

Hi John,

You dont know how lucky you are.
... you got the ute loaded with wood without
lifting a finger. Here at Wallan we have to
load it ourselves.:D

Good to see you are ok mate.

Allan

Could be much worse - you could live at Wallan.

I saw some of the damage in that area the other day, John. On that road where there's a landscape business on the Beaudesert Road corner. There are sheets of roofing iron wrapped around trees and so on. It must have been a beauty.

Hi Denn,
Obviously you have never been to Wallan.
Lovely part of the world, we live on the lower slopes of
Pretty Sally Hill where the original Cobb and Co coaches
used to travel on their way to Sydney.
From the kitchen, on a good day, I can see Mt Disappointment,
the Kinglake Ranges and the top of Mt St. Leonard which is
some 57 kms away as the crow flies. From another aspect
I can see Melbourne some 55 kms away. We live on one
acre in our 40 sq. home and would not swap it for anything.

Regards,

Allan
