End mill questions.

I remember asking something similar before, but for the life of me, I can't remember..

Basically, what I want are end mills with shanks that ideally are either 5/8", 1/4, or 6mm, to fit my machine.

After a supplier in N.S.W. Don't need a full set. Only need about 3 sizes. Though, the smallest I want, I'd like to be near 2mm.

There's a guy in N.S.W's here that one of you blokes put me onto. And I bought something from them, but I've lost their address, and can't seem to find it through google.

I found the reference to the article - it was mentioned in John Whelan's Making Traditional Wooden Planes which also contains some useful tips on using end mills on wood. The article was By Grant Beck and was called "Milling and Drilling Machinist Style" and was in the December 1993 issue of FWW (http://www.taunton.com/back-issues/fw_toc_103.asp). If anyone has a copy of this, I owuld love to borrow it!

Can't help you with that issue I'm affraid. The only thing I've got is one of Krenov's books. Thats where I got the idea from. He mortises on the horizontal off his table saw. A couple of pictures in there and a paragraph or two on it. Can take a couple of photos of those pages and post here if you like. I've adapted the idea with my shopsmith.

Anycase, I've noticed with the one endmill I've got just how clean cutting they are. Much easier to use than the slotcutters.
