This is Lonsdale, a 1/12th scale of a building at Spring Hill in Brisbane. I have just started work on the rest of the building now, having built the verandah for our Dollhouse and Miniature Show. Finished size will be 28" x 20" (or 28' x 20'). I stomped all over the outside of the building to get measurements but have hit a brick wall trying to gain access into the inside.
I can't own up to the lower windows which were pre-made but the French Doors, and Front Door as with every other bit is my work.
Funny thing, I picked up an original bannister rail in the backyard, which had been replaced. In fact everything in the place has been replaced - you know the story - the spade has a new handle and a new foot, but it's still the same spade!!
Well, my Lonsdale will have more original timber in it than the real one as I am going to use the original bannister rail inside mine, both for turning and furniture making. At least that's the plan!
