I know that I'll learn a lot from you and hope that I can share some insight to you as well.:2tsup: Have some questions that I'll get to a little later, just wanted to introduce myself and show a little of what I've done.

Here's my shop and some of my projects;

Welcome Troy, love your shed, particularly your dust collection system.

Once you have found your way around and got settled in, perhaps you'd like to give us a few more details of that?

Some nice projects there also:2tsup:

And as for the dust collection system, that was a fairly easy project just took a little time to construct being that I haven't worked with metal before. The plans came from a Magazine, I'll find it and post which one it's in. This is a Cyclone Type System and very effective, except when the plastic blast gates get clogged up with fine dust and don't close all the way, like mine is now. Got to figure out how to fix that. Seen an article on making them out of wood, may try that on a couple to see how it works. Anyway I'll get back to you on more details of the system.

Thanks again for the welcome!

Thanks Phil, those look like they will work better and I may have to get something like them. However, I was reading some more about blast gates and came across someone who modified the plastic ones like I have. He cut the back two corners off so when you close it, it pushes the dust out of the gate instead of packing it in. I think I will try this first and see if I can get a little more use out of them. The only thing that I'm concerned with is with the corners out it will pull air in through the slots where it's been cut but that still can't be as much as it is pulling now through every gate because they all are open a little due to the dust collection in the corners.

Welcome Troy - nice shop and nice work too.

By the way, that's a very odd looking bear. Down Under, we'd call it a dog. :U
