Has anyone had any trouble with the new Triton belt sanders. I picked one up at the wood show in Brisbane back in april when on special. Have only used it 3 times so far for shaping smothing off parts for small toys. Today went down to shed and thought I would do some work - turned the sander on and it ran for about 2 seconds and then filled the shed with blue smoke coming from the motor. Not happy David. Will take it back to Mitre10 on Friday and see what they have to say. It's not like it has had a hard life - I would have expected a longer life at $299? I bought the Triton one instead of the Carbtec due to the dust removal blower on Triton. Found the not quite strong enough to suck up all MDF dust so have been using my DC3 hose hanging off side of table to carry off any excess dust. Has anyone else got one of these units and had any problems?
