Hi all,

Just joined the forum after several weeks of reading and learning from your wide experience. Congrats on a splendid site and quality newsletters from the Holmesglen club. I hope to join the club in the new year once I have made my purchase.

On my "window-shopping" trips to Bunnings (different outlets) I have noticed workbench packages with different date codes (eg. 2001). Some have been gathering dust for a while - even the package labelling varied in one case.

Would appreciate your advice as to how to ensure I obtain a recently manufactured workbench - or indeed whether it is important. I suspect Triton incorporate changes/ improvements to the 2000 product over time and am keen to get the latest version.

Thanks in advance and look forward to chatting in the future.

cheers,

Grant (Glen Iris, Melbourne)

the new model is the WCA 201 for the workcentre

and the only real difference from memory from this model to the last one is the upgraded saw sliding chssis, which if you are going to use the Triton power saw is alot easier to setup and make acurate than the older model

G'day Grant

Why bother waiting for the new year? Come along this Sunday for a look see- we have a demonstration of French Polishing, and a demonstration/use of the Triton Finger Joiner. The 4x2 challenge is also being judged :)

And while you are at it, you can also rock along to our end-of-year BBQ on the 14th December. The annual woodworking comp will be getting judged, and there's the BBQ itself, raffles etc.

Both should be a good finish to the year, and a great way to whet the appetite for next year!

Regards,
Stuart
