I've had a 40 litre GMC air compressor for a couple of years now, it doesn't get much usage and takes up a lot of space. I've been thinking of getting the smaller tank compressor which Bunnies sell for about half the price of the one I bought. Would I be losing much by going to the smalller unit in terms of capability etc. The smaller one would also be transportable which would be handy for me.

hey mate
ive got the 30ltr 2hp gmc compressor i use it a fair bit ts great for bradders staplers that kind of thing but as soon as you put a spray gun or drill andything like that its no good cus the compressor is constantly running and it get really hot lol thats why im looking to upsgrade. but for $100 maybe you could stick your motor from the 40ltr onto the 30ltr then you will have s stronger motor for when its allways emptying

Hey Gags,

How does it go with framing/fixer guns?

havent used a framing gun on it but with an adaptor i ran to bradders firing 50mm 16gauge nails and it worked fine, just not so good with drills etc.. what are ya gonna do with your other compressor

A while back K-Mart had compressors with a vertical (50LT?) tank - haven't seen any for a while, but you never know what will appear in time for Xmas. It only takes up a square space equal to the tank diameter, and its easy to roll around as the handle is at a convenient height & the weight is over the wheels.

If you are only going to run a nail gun, you may find a tiny 'pancake' compressor at one of the specialist tools shops like Gasweld/Parra/TotalTools. I've also seen a sit-on compressor with 2 small tanks, again at K-Mart Auto & some of the tool shops - just not GMC

Power Tool Specialists in Carlton have a small one with wheels and two tanks mounted so it can lay down flat under a ute tarp. It's $399, I'm not quite ready to splash. I'd want the smallest quietest one I can find. I haven't put too much research into it yet.

As far as I know the smallest and quietest compressor is the MAX POWERLITE.Just VERY expensive!
