It is bolivian rosewood and the stripe on the drawer is a piece of tulipwood from my scrap bin. He got me into woodworking in the first place and this is one of the very first things I ever made.

He says he likes it.

Beautiful, almost art decor, which is my favourite era. So much so that I am going to Napier in NZ at Xmas.

Thank you for the kind comments. How did this old post get resurrected? Don't be too sure about wanting this particular timber. This stuff bit me bad. Bolivian rosewood is high on the toxicity lists for timber. The dust is an eye and respiratory irritant. I had to go to the doctor and get steroids prescribed to get over this one. I then gave away approximately 80 board feet of it just so I wouldn't accidentally use it again. :no:
