Interesting. Looks like a direct clone of the Garrett Super scanners (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?t=46513) I picked up.

Before you buy you may want to consider this research I did about a year ago.

The superscan (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6646) as it is called is a weapons detector for night clubs and airports etc. Here are some specs. http://www.metaldetector.cn/3003b.asp
It has a sensitivity of a US25c at 35 mm

The TS80 sold by Carbatec has a sensitivity of a US25c at 60 mm. This can detect a small staple end on 1 mm below a wood surface.
