Vermec Threading Jig

I have just received a chrissy present to myself in the shape of a Vermec Threading Jig, and what a very fine piece of machine work it is. The tooling and workmanship is excellent and all movements are nice and smooth.:2tsup:

Now to my question, has anybody used one of these jigs (or similar) and if so can you offer any advice. The one failing is the sparsity of setup and use of instruction literature that came with the device (two pages). Of course Enzo may assume that everyone that buys this product will be an expert in thread making but in my case, this is so not so. Any advice appreciated:?:?

That is what comes with the unit, I was hoping for a bit more re setup etc.

I have the Richard Raffan DVD that shows him cutting a thread with the Bonnie Klien jig so maybe that will offer some more detailed advice

The Vermec jig seems to rely on the micrometer dial alone for positioning the workpiece. It might be helpful to add a positioning scale like this gent did:

Also, Google [thread form] for some working dimensions, or formulae for deriving them. These should enable calculating the allowances for sizing the parent socket and tenon. Timber doesn't behave the same as metal, of course. As Vermec suggests, the points should be reduced further than for metal to reduce fracturing.
