Hi All,
Been using my compressor to do some painting and today it was leaking through the regulator. The wierd thing is it is not cracked and is leaking between the red screw cap which adjust the pressure and the thread. I have not done anything different and been using it for a while. The compressor itself still works fine but is constantly pressurizing due to the leak.

Any suggestions would be great.

Cheers

Sounds like the rubber diaphragm might have a crack or hole in it. Depending on brand it might be easiest to just get a new regulator.

Thanks DJ's.
I unscrewed the red dial cap completely and it seems there is no rubber diaghram? To be honest I dont think there ever was.

Sorry, I dont know the technical jargon.

Regrads,

To get at the diaphragm, you need to take the body apart, not unscrew the cap, that just moves the adjusting bolt the pushes on the diaphragm to give you the correct pressure

The rubber diaphragm has a hole in it. The only real way of fixing that is to throw over left shoulder and buy a new one.

That's my experience.

Thanks for the assistance gents. I undid the regulator, the rubber seal was fine, the plastics bit was broken. Went to a couple of places including super cheap and they dont to parts. I got a regulator but I will need a couple of extras to connect as there was nothing like my existing. I had a though, I have both the standard regulator that I came with the compressor and I had this one going straight into an oil/water filter for spraying. Can I just remove the broken regulator and go through the oil/water filter regulator?

I will do a search in the forum for places to get parts. Its a bit hard finding places that are open and know what they are talking about.

Cheers again

Yes you can do that, there is no need for two regs on a line.
