I am visiting Sydney at the end of Jan. 08 and would like to make contact with someone who has a Stubby Lathe.
I have a Vicmarc which I am happy with but I want to do some teaching in the future and will need a second lathe.
I have been told the the Stubby is very good but would like to see one in action.

Welcome to the forum.

Feel free to introduce yourself.

Do a google on groups and you'll find a Yahoo Stubby group that might get you a response.

Welcome to the menagerie Brian.:D:D
You've certainly chosen a crackerjack lathe as a 2nd. Which one are you looking at. The bigger ones are quite expensive?

I guess the question is 'good for what'.

So it all depends on what you want to do with your second lathe.

All lathe designs have their strengths and weaknesses and you deal with that by matching the horse to the course as far as you can.
