Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Ryobi CDL1802D and CDL1802P?

The 1802D has previously been mentioned on the BB at roughly $250, the 1802P is about $100.

I think the 1802P would be the handyman version, but does anyone know what actual difference there may be between the two?

My guess is the gearbox wouldn't be all metal construction and the batteries would be cheaper versions. The 1802D is the professional series version while the 1802P looks to be the handyman version as you correctly guessed.
