Finally got around to finishing it. Box is dovetailed Huon Pine (first time I used the Gifkins jig). Trims are Crow's Ash. Top is a nice burl veneer - not sure what species.

Wow! Nice box. Is the substrate of the veneer panel MDF?

Thanks :) I see nothing but faults, but isn't it always that way? :)
The top is 6mm MDF. Coated it with PVA, dropped the veneer on both sides, sandwiched between two pieces of melamine, then clapmed with every clamp I could fit on it, then left for a week to dry. First attempt at veneering and it worked a treat.
