I looked at the price of the smart bevel from Festool at about $290 :oo: is there another brand on the market that halves the angle automatically at a lower price.

Here is an angle divider that I found on utube.

Not quite the same but it does work quite well.

I have one of these, marketed by Trend in the UK and it works well for me.

You might also consider a classic tool like the Stanley 30 angle divider. You can see a photo on this page (http://www.hansbrunnertools.gil.com.au/Measuring-2.htm). Hans has a Craftsman brand still for sale. I don't see why it wouldn't be just as good and way cheaper at $90!
