Hi guys,I was wondering does anyone here use a buffing kit,for finishing turnings, and how do you find it.
I just got a buffing kit with 3 wheels, one for tripoli comound, one for white diamond, and one for carnuba wax.
I tried it on a pen yesterday, but the pen had 2 types of wood in it,pau amerillo, and zirocote, and it seemed to fill the grain of the yellow wood with the dark :oo:.
I actually bought it to finish other turnings including bowls, etc.
Just wondering anyones experiences with a buffing kit.
Seems like I can get a great finish with it,advice needed, wanted, etc, lol.
Thanks guys,Steve

Thanks guys but I clicked on here" and nothing came up.
I searched too before I asked about it,but I'll do more searches and word it differrently.
I'm sure there's lots of stuff on it.
I made a "workshop pencil" last night, and tried it out and it worked very well.
I bought it though for bowls etc,and I think it'll put a nice finish on turnings.
There's tripoli, white diamond, and lastly a wheel loaded with carnube wax.
I've made 2 odd bowls with odd pieces of wood, niether are round on the outside, and one had 2 bowls in it,one 5'6" in diameter, and a small 2" bowl/recess in it too.I was going to buff the insides.
I'll have to learn to post a picture properly too.lolI tried yere and it didn't work right.
I know,,I usually read the directions last:rolleyes:.Or just skim through them.

Thanks guys,I'll have another look around.
