Hi everyone. Thought I would post some pics of my Marquetry in my bar top I am working on. It is a pirate themed bar. It is mostly Walnut and Maple veneer.

That looks lovely. Re the query on the vacuum press - I've just ordered my first newbie kit to play with. Would one of those clothing bags that you suck out the air with a vacuum cleaner to compress the contents, work as well? I've checked out some vacuum press prices and they all seem to be pretty highly priced. Probably sandwich the finished thing between some pieces of melamine inside the bag. I'd rather not spend too much money until I find out if I have any skill at marquetry, or whether I'm producing a pig's breakfast.
