Does anyone have any experience with the CNC X2 mill from Syil Australia?

I finally realised that Syil Australia was actually based about 10 minutes drive from home so today I popped around and had a chat with the owner, Frans.

I spent about an hour with him as he explained the basics of CNC and gave me a demo of the CNC C6 lathe.

He has one of the X2 mills but after talking to him I'm going to wait and have a look at the X4 Mill that he is getting in. He reckons he should have one to demo sometime next month.

I was originally debating if I wanted to go the CNC path as I didn't understand that you could still do manual operations on the CNC (just pushing keyboard buttons instead of turning handles). Now I'm sold and pending having a look at the X4 mill I think I'm going to go that and a CNC C6 lathe. Frans was really helpful and said he would come and help set it all up if I bought them which gets top marks from me. :2tsup:

Now I have to start putting together a shopping list of tooling to suit both.

In the meantime I have to teach myself how to use BobCam and Mach3. :o
