SWMBO wanted a piano stool, here's the result. I made it out of pine laying around the workshop. The design is basically from David Haskett in the July/August 1995 edition of Australian Woodworker.

Nice work!!
Do you remember the old stools with the top that spun to adjust the height ?? Lee valley is reproducing the hardware for them

Sssshhhh! Paul,

My wife might hear you and want one.

But, Yeah I have seen them thanks. The ones I really admire are the wooden threaded stools and chairs. I remember as a kid seeing them in places like railway station offices and post offices.

I know you can turn the threads on a lathe, but I wouldn't have a clue how. One day I might invest in a lathe and try;)

Aaaahhh!.... if I show my missus this ..... then tell her it can be done on a lathe .... do you think she might let me buy a lathe and all necessary equipment????? ..... Nah! that ain't gonna happen............... Is it???

Cheers
