I've been told of an old Emco desktop metal lathe for sale.

While I'm sorta interested in metalwork, I'd only follow this up if it's a real steal.

Anyone got any idea of what's a good price? Assuming working condition, most accessories still with it.

Cheers,
Andrew

Try eBay in the States, there are always a number of Unimat SL lathes for sale.

My preference is the later Unimat 3, the SL is getting a bit long in the tooth and is really old fashioned in appearance. Others may argue with me.

I started off with the Unimat 3 with milling attachment, and have progressed to a
9" Hercus.

The Unimat 3 has severe limitations in terms of the size of work being turned, and the motor over heating. Having said all that, they are great fun and just the thing to cut your teeth on, so to speak.
