The following is a run down of my second clock.
I had a soso piece of Huon that was 40 odd mm thick and I decided to split it with a handsaw. After planing i was left with about 20mm thickness. :2tsup:
The clock face was coated with 3 coats of shellac and wax.
The Mechanism was from GPW and came with the usual numbers and hands as a set. I felt the numbers looked rather uninteresting against the pale colour of the Huon so I ditched them.
I took some scrap blue glass and fused it with orange glass in the center x 12 of course.
Not quite finished yet. I have to drill the hole and life is groovy. Damien.

Wheelin, That is a good idea but to tell you my secrets , I would have to kill ya dead:p. Have time this arvo, so I will see what I can do.

Wendy, Thanks for the compliment. The clock looks better in reality as I'm a sh**house phototype bloke.

Damien.

Damien, I'm certainly not very good with the camera either, but I'll give you a hint - practice!:U In other words, make lots more wood work and take lots more pictures - see! Practice becomes fun as well!:D (well, that's what I keep telling myself:rolleyes::doh:)

That's so cool!

What's a crucible? (Excuse my ignorance...)

How long do you have them in for?

Yonnee, the crucuble is the white container that you usually melt metal in. 11mins in the MW and cooling time is about 1hr and then finished.:D
