bought a new belt for the 48" sander [TTI] and its too long -
measured against the original supplied with the machine its around 1 1/2" longer. it is not a real tight fit and any sort of pressure on the bed stops it spinning

had a look underneath and i cant adjust the rollers at all

any ideas??

If you have the original belt, try contacting Sumabrite in South Oakleigh. The would be able to get them done as customs using the orig as pattern. The normally have a fair stock of 48 inch belts in various widths, grades and grits.

Obviously either the machine and original belt are non standard, or someone got hold of a run of dodgy length replacement belts, so having the original that did fit would help.

If you desperately need to use the belt that you have, you can build up the diameter of the rollers with rubber sheet. Just use contact adhesive to stick the rubber on neatly.
