I wanna build a good'ol "stitch'n'glue" plywood Pacer - not 100% comfortable with this new fangled ??? moulded f/glass - plus it is way beyond the budget !!. These plans were common in the mid '70s & early '80s so hope we may have some other "oldsailors" out there who can help me fulfill a dream

Wazza,

I'm fairly sure that you can get Pacer plans from the class association - I don't know the web address, but a simple search will get you some results quickly.

If you want to see a series of photos showing the stitch-and-glue process, have a look at my website and click on ther buttons "First Mate Photos 1" and "First Mate Photos 2". There are about 100 photos in that sequence, all as thumbnails which expand when you click on them.

I hope this helps a bit,

Hi Ross,
Many thanks for your comment..like you I thought the class association would be the first point of reference (wanting to promote the class etc..etc..) but NO !! Just can't evoke a response !!
However, not one to let lack of cooperation stand in the way, I am driving to Sydney this week to look at what must be one of the first stitch'n'glue Pacers made. Vendor is not asking a lot so I may purchase it with a view to lifting the necessary patterns off it - and then starting the process of building. If I get bored or frustrated during the build I guess I can always take a break and go sailing !!
Have had an initial glance at your site - very informative-will definetely return later
