Just finished a 12'' segmented bowl, made of ''grenen'' (yellow pine)
Sanded and polished with shavings.
Finished with two layers blanc transparent stain.
Had a lot of this ''grenen'', but now I'm running out of this wood.
Thanks for looking.

Nice bowl Ad but don't you have any dark timbers over there?

I might have to send you some Jarrah, blue gum, ironbark..... oooh just considered postage prices... It might be cheaper if you flew over here:D

And again..Nice bowl:2tsup:

Thanks a lot for your offer, oh yes we have dark timber, but when I tell you that my favorite wood is light colored wood ?
I think it's better for us to visit your wonderful country, it's already on my list to do that sometimes, not this year, this year is on the programm Italy and Sicily, so the end of may I'm gone for three weeks, what a life we have !!

Beautiful bowl, Ad De Crom. All the pale woods together give a nice subtle effect. Really focuses on the grain. Adding dark woods would create a more checker board effect. Nice but a bit less subtle.

Very nice shape, AdC. I can see that these segmented things could quickly become addictive. The more websites & galleries from woodworkers specialising in segmented works I see, the more possibilities arise. Quite fascinating, some of the stuff.
