G'Day Y'all!

After a long dry spell I finally have something to contribute. Mesquite vessel with African Blackwood lid and finial. 5-1/4"W x 5-1/2"H. Sanded to 800, finished with Seal-A-Cell and buffified. Mesquite is a native tree here in the Chicken Fried Nation (Texas, that is) and always beautiful to work with.

Thanks for peeking!

Very nice. The africa blackwood looks a lot darker then the Aussie version.

What do you plan to do with the vessel?

Neal, gorgeous piece. I like the finial, the fit of it, and the form. Begging to be held. Well done! I'd take it for my collection. :D

Fine work with good looking wood, Neal, and the proportions look just right.

Very nice Neal. Did you source the African Blackwood from a local supplier? Mesquite I've seen before, and its nicely contrasted against the Blackwood. Beautiful detail on this very delicate piece.
