Here you go, a link to a simple device thats easy to make. That can be used to determine the proportions of your wood turning, via the Golden Mean or Fibonnacci numbers, Phi etc.

Bear in mind that the dimensions are between pivot points and not the over all lengths.

Great looking. but how do i read the ruler ?? looked at it but havent got a clue

Just an ordinary, everyday compass can do the trick...

Indulge an old retired engineer please. Where in hobby woodworking would one find a need for this type of "tool"? I understand the theory and importance of fibby's theorm but ??? Thanks.

The GM is a principle used to set proportions for design.
