Hello,

I have a tv cabinet that I want to add a sliding keyboard shelf to. I want to use one of the original shelves as the keyboard shelf.

I want the shelf to be flush with the top of the space (ie. right under the top of the bench) and to slide out. (I hope I explained that bit okay)

Normal drawer runners from the hardware require them to be on the side of the drawer, I want to put these underneath. I don't want to cut down the width of the shelf.

Let's see if I can make a picture....

|------------------------| - = top
|########################| # = shelf
|[o] ................ [o]| [o] = runner
| ...................... | . = nothing, can't put spaces
| ...................... |

Thanks,
Josh

Hi Wonder,
I did a similar thing when I built my computer desk, for the keyboard, and another shelf for the scanner.
I used 'Hettich' full extension ball bearing draw slides. I used them on their sides, they measure about 10x40mm x whatever length you want the shelf to come out (I hope you know what I mean). I used 300mm long ones for the keyboard shelf, they work great with very little flex.
I dont know where you would get them down your way, try anyone that sells decent cabinet hardware.

Check out Hafele's web site - they do undermounts

check Timbercon's site for Cabinet making accessories and then give Lincoln Sentry in your state a call. They are specialist supplies to the trade and retail.

Most of their stuff is high end but I purchased a few pair of extendible brackets that go under the tray and they were half the price for the same unit.
